Sand Forms

This photo was taken as the sun rested on the horizon at Ocean Beach in San Francisco (a cherished sight at SF’s foggy coastline). Low tide provided a great opportunity to photograph elegant sand formations trapping small pools of water. The deep shadows and highlights created an abstract image that plays with dimension and perspective.

Where am I? Flying high above or in my bathing suit lying on the wet beach peering closely at the sand. Both positions and moving anywhere in between reminds me of the relativity of time and space. The motion and forms resonate with my internal maps. The silence is so satisfying. Respect for the land is evident and begs another question. What happens when footprints and handprints appear?

Well said! I'm going to have you write my descriptions from now on. The footprints and handprints in the sand appear and disappear like puzzled ghosts trying to figure out if they are real or not.

Any time... where's the next photo???

And those ghosts ... real or not, also to see whether they've admired, supported or damaged the space.
